ResumeShed publishes free resume and career tools and plain-language guides covering resumes, cover letters, ATS formatting, and job applications. This page explains who builds and maintains that content, how we research and check it, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Who is behind ResumeShed

ResumeShed is built and operated by Express Services Group, a company based in Fresno, California. The same team builds the tools, writes the guides, and answers when a reader reports a problem. Content is produced by the Express Services Group Editorial Team and published under our own name — not by anonymous freelancers, and not copied from elsewhere.

How we build our tools and guides

Our tools help you write and format application documents right in your browser. Our guides start from the real questions job seekers ask — what a recruiter actually scans for, what an applicant tracking system (ATS) can and cannot parse, how to describe experience in measurable terms — and answer them in specific, actionable detail rather than generic pep talk.

How we review and keep it current

Everything we publish is reviewed against one standard: is this genuinely useful and accurate for the person who searched for it? Pages that would exist only to chase search traffic do not get published. We revisit guides as hiring norms and ATS behavior change. Each guide shows when it was published and when it was last reviewed.

Our sources

We rely on primary and widely accepted sources: published guidance from major ATS and job-board providers, the formatting those systems actually parse, and long-standing resume and cover-letter conventions. Where advice is a rule of thumb rather than a hard rule, we say so.

Editorial independence

ResumeShed is free to use and supported by modest display advertising. Advertisers have no say over our tools, our guides, or the advice in them, and we do not tailor content to any advertiser.
